Transition Thoughts : 1
F*ck.. I'm doing research at this moment to figure out how I will be able to go ahead with SRS, which it seems in the US is starting to commonly be called Gender Affirming Surgery. "GAS" seriously? LMAO. Seriously!! Great acronym??? *insert laughing emoji* *insert more laughing emoji*
Gender Confirming Surgery, (GCS) is a better one... Sex Confirming Surgery?? (SCS) ??? Sometimes it bothers me there's so many terms for exactly the same thing. I'd almost prefer there were only one even if it has flaws, just so it's easier for everyone to know what we're fricking talking about..~!
HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy)
Well. Anyway... Soooooooo........ Moving on then..
For anyone who may not know this, one of the best and easiest resources to figure this all out is:
https://www.hrc.org/resources/finding-insurance-for-transgender-related-healthcare
There are so many websites on the internet since a while, that makes it hard for anyone neuro-divergent (such as myself) to be able to find what they're searching for...
But OKAY...! Finally found out the way forward... Still?!?!?!?!
Apparently!!!!!!! The listing for requirements to be able to qualify for SRS through most insurances is procedure dependent. So which thing you need done, you'll probably have to be able to provide letters of recommendation, I need a fricking paper trail... etc...
To get SRS seems, seems you also have to have been on HRT for a year. Luckily enough I'm almost there. In 2 months I'll have been in this life for an entire year.... It's hard to believe, but not so hard to believe that I don't believe it. I do believe. This life is my best life.
There is so much that I have to do and I finally know most what I need to do to make these steps. Doesn't stop the fact that I was always an extremely emotional person even before HRT..!!
Back to the surgery considerations.. I should probably be able to get the letter of recommendation from my doctor, even though I did it through informed consent, I'm assuming that this is still going to be enough??
If anyone knows a bit more about that specific point please let me know...! I will appreciate you!
